Mother’s Day Flower Crawl Blossoms Again in VC
Locals and tourists alike know Virginia City for its famous Devil Made Me Do It Saloon Crawls; but now, the town trades shots for stems during one of its sweetest new traditions — the annual Mother’s Day Flower Crawl.
Virginia City Main Street hosted its second annual Mother’s Day Flower Crawl on May 10, with 30 saloons and storefronts taking part in another sold-out celebration. The family-friendly event invited participants to stroll through historic Virginia City businesses while building a gorgeous 30-stem bouquet one stop at a time — with plenty of goodies and smiles collected along the way.
The crawl turned downtown into a festive mix of flowers, laughter, and families celebrating moms in a creative and memorable way. Some participants said they had been looking forward to the event since last year, while newcomers quickly discovered why the event has become such a hit.
“I called for weeks before they posted the event to make sure I knew when I could sign up,” one excited mom said during check-in.
Beyond the bouquets, the event also helps support Virginia City Main Street’s ongoing efforts to revitalize downtown, strengthen the local economy, support small businesses, and keep community traditions blooming year after year.
With the Mother’s Day Flower Crawl selling out both years it has been held, organizers encourage anyone interested in attending next year to mark their calendars early for 2027 registration before spots disappear once again.
