Racing for the Throne: 37th Annual Outhouse Races

Virginia City’s 37th Annual World Championship Outhouse Races once again proved that small-town traditions can be anything but ordinary. On Oct. 3-4, costumed crews barreled their creative contraptions at top speed down C Street, drawing cheers, laughter, and plenty of double takes from spectators packed along the boardwalk. What began decades ago as a political protest has grown into one of the Comstock’s most beloved and offbeat celebrations, keeping the crowd rolling in puns (and other stuff...) all weekend long!

This year, the final battle was between Craptain America and Blazing Bottoms with Craptain America pushing BB into the No. 2 spot!
