It has been a little over a week now and we appreciate everyone who has stepped up and helped us out in any way they could! We are still going through emails and messages from people, so we apologize if we have not gotten to yours yet.
The post was created as an outreach to the public to show that we are full and we need help! And it is not just our shelter, but all shelters in Northern Nevada and all the rescue groups are full! We still very much need your help!
A big thank you to Pet Network Humane Society, WARF - Wylie Animal Rescue Foundation - Northern Nevada, Nevada Humane Society, Res-Que and Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe for being able to make some room and taking some of our dogs! A total of 20 dogs were transferred out to rescue this past week so that is HUGE.
We had 9 dogs adopted out in the last week to fabulous homes.
We had 6 dogs reunited with their owners.
ZERO EUTHANASIAS NEEDED TO BE DONE!
A total of 35 dogs have left our shelter – that is almost our entire shelter. BUT.....It has only opened three of our kennels, which is the never-ending battle that we have been facing. We are still picking up strays. We still have 59 dogs that are on our surrender list that are waiting to come in as well.
We appreciate everyone who has stepped up and helped us out in anyway they possibly could. The fact that 35 dogs have left is huge for us and are beyond grateful for this community who stepped up!
