Hot August Nights Launches Volunteer Open House for 40th Anniversary Celebration
SPARKS, NV – Hot August Nights is gearing up for a milestone year and inviting the community to help make history. As the organization prepares to celebrate its 40th Anniversary in 2026, it is launching a volunteer open house and encouraging both longtime supporters and a new generation of volunteers to join the team behind one of Northern Nevada’s most iconic events.
For four decades, Hot August Nights has been one of Reno and Sparks’ most beloved traditions, bringing together classic cars, live music, cruising, and community spirit. Each summer, the event welcomes participants and spectators from across the world, helping drive tourism, support local businesses, and create an unforgettable atmosphere throughout the region.
As a local community organization, volunteers are the heart and soul of the event. From greeting guests and helping with car shows and show-n-shines to assisting participants and supporting event operations, volunteers help create the fun, welcoming experience that keeps people coming back year after year.
With the 40th Anniversary on the horizon, Hot August Nights is inviting community members 18 years and older to get involved. All skill sets are welcome, especially those eager to experience the excitement of the event from behind the scenes.
Volunteer opportunities include:
• Information booth ambassadors
• Participant registration and check-in
• Assisting with car shows and Show-n-Shines
• Helping direct participants and spectators
• Hospitality and guest support
• Foundation Assistance
• General event operations
Volunteers typically serve four-hour shifts with a minimum of 16 hours during the 10-day event, and many volunteers choose to participate even more once they experience the fun and camaraderie of the team.
To help community members learn more, Hot August Nights will host two Volunteer Recruitment Open House events where attendees can meet the team, learn about volunteer roles, and discover how they can be part of the milestone celebration.
