The Storey County Clerk’s Office is preparing for the upcoming Primary Election scheduled for Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

The primary election determines which candidates will advance to the General Election in November of this year.

Storey County voters will have three ways to cast a ballot:

• Vote early from May 23 through June 5
• Vote in person on Election Day, June 9
• Vote by mail ballot

Mail ballots will be sent out in April. If a resident needs to change their address, they can contact the Clerk’s Office at 775-847-0969 or visit in person at 26 South B Street, Virginia City, NV 89440.

“Our goal is to make sure voters understand their options and have clear, accurate information well in advance of Election Day,” said Jim Hindle, Storey County Clerk.

Residents are encouraged to verify their voter registration status, party affiliation, and contact information before the June election. Residents can do so by either calling our Clerk’s Office at 775-847-0969 or emailing elections@storeycounty.org. Additionally, residents can check online: www.nvsos.gov/votersearch
