Dayton Valley Dog Park Closure Announcement
That time has arrived. We’ve heard from the contractors doing the restoration work on the All Breeds portion of the park. Here is the Closure schedule for the Dayton Valley Dog Park that we said was coming starting mid-May:
Starting Monday, May 18, the ENTIRE Dayton Valley Dog Park will be closed. All Sections: Small Dog, Large Dog and All Breeds Sections. This first closure will last up to three weeks. Please be aware that all parties are going to do their best to try and get work done as quickly as possible so that closure time can be reduced.
When the initial work is completed on the All Breeds section, the Large Dog Section and Small Dog Section will reopen – but the All Breeds section will remain closed through mid- to late- July.
We also need to mention that during the park closure, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department will be patrolling the area more often than normal and they are aware of the planned closure. People and dogs caught using the park during this closure will be subject to trespassing laws from the county and the Dayton Valley Dog Park cannot be held responsible for what may happen to a dog that could get loose as a result of being in the park when gates are left open for contract workers and equipment/supply deliveries.
Please understand that we know how much of a pain this is for everyone. The intent is not to drive away our loyal patrons – but to service the grounds and make a better park.
Thank you for your understanding and patience. We will do our very best to keep everyone updated on all facets of Phase 2 of this project.
