Automotive Artistry Rolls Onto C Street
As Hot August Nights opened its 40th Anniversary celebration in Virginia City, nearly 400 classic cars transformed historic C Street into something more than a car show—it became an open-air art gallery where every vehicle told a story.
The July 31-Aug. 1, event marked the official kickoff of the beloved annual celebration, bringing thousands of visitors to the Comstock to admire automotive craftsmanship.
From spotless chrome and flawless paint to hand-stitched interiors and meticulous pinstriping, each car represents countless hours of dedication. Throughout the Hot August Nights event week, owners proudly share the results of years—sometimes decades—spent hunting down rare parts, perfecting details, and preserving pieces of history. This collection of vehicles captures not only the style of a bygone era, but also the artistry and commitment of the people who keep these rolling works of art alive.
For this 2026 opening weekend, history and horsepower met on the Comstock, reminding everyone that true art doesn't always hang on a wall. Sometimes it rumbles to life and cruises down C Street on four wheels.
