Storey County to Host Wildfire Drill Recap Town Hall Virginia City Highlands, NV. Storey County, in partnership with the Storey County Sheriff’s Office, Storey County Emergency Management, and the Storey County Fire Protection District, is inviting residents to a community town hall to discuss wildfire preparedness and review the recent Highlands evacuation drill. The Wildfire Drill Recap Town Hall will take place on Thursday, August 14, at 6:00 PM at the Virginia City Highlands Community Center, 2610 Cartwright Road. The event will provide a brief recap of the June evacuation drill, including what went well, areas for improvement, and how drills like this help residents and emergency responders stay ready for real wildfire events. “Preparedness is a team effort,” said Adam Wilson, Storey County Emergency Management Director. “This town hall gives us a chance to listen to community feedback, answer questions, and work together to make our response even stronger.” Residents are encouraged to attend, share their ideas, and continue building a safer and more resilient community.
