Virginia Truckee Railroad Marks its Golden Anniversary with "Murder at Mile Marker Fifty," a July 4 Interactive Murder Mystery
All aboard for mystery, mischief, and a dash of railroad drama! The Virginia Truckee Railroad’s Golden Anniversary celebration rolls on July 4 with the Fun Time Players’ newest interactive whodunit, Murder at Mile Marker Fifty.
Guests are invited to climb aboard the railroad’s beautifully restored Pullman cars for a one-of-a-kind “Triple Celebration”: America’s 250th anniversary, the 50th anniversary of the rebirth of the legendary Virginia Truckee Railroad, and the 50th anniversary of the iconic film Grease.
As the train winds through the historic Comstock Mining District to Gold Hill, passengers will be swept into a lively mystery packed with secrets, suspects, laughs, and surprises. A crime has been committed, and everyone on board gets to play detective while enjoying delicious appetizers and tasty beverages. Watch the characters closely, follow the clues, and make your best guess—prizes will be awarded for both the best and worst theories. July 4 at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. – tickets are $63 and can be purchased online at www.virginiatruckee.com.
And the fun doesn’t stop when the mystery is solved! After the curtain falls—or the culprit is caught—stick around in Virginia City for more Fourth of July adventure. Stroll the wooden boardwalks, cool off in an old-time saloon, catch a gunfighter show, and cap the night with the Comstock’s awe-inspiring fireworks lighting up the high desert sky.
