Virginia City Basketball Program Goes 11-0
The Virginia City Muckers were able to tally up an 11-0, undefeated record between the three teams this past weekend.
The Lady Muckers travelled out to Beatty to compete in the Beatty Bash tournament, where they went 5-0 and came home with the championship trophy.
The Ladies achieved this with an average victory of 18.6 points.
If that isn’t impressive enough, they achieved this with only six players, as the rest of the team was out due to illness.
The boys' teams took a much shorter drive to compete in the Smith Valley Bulldog Invitational tournament. Both the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams went 3-0 over the weekend.
On top of the already tough competition, a couple of players played on Varsity and JV, meaning they played a total of six games in two days.
The JV team averaged a victory of 10.7 points per game, and the Varsity team averaged 19.3 points per game.
These wins are more than just a record, though.
These are the last games the two Varsity teams will play before a long road trip to compete in the Bullhead City Holiday Shootout tournament, Dec. 18-20, which will really test the Muckers.
This is a great momentum and confidence builder heading into another long, competitive weekend.
