Train Derailment Near USA Parkway

Just before 7am on March 27, TMFR and Storey County Fire responded to a reported train derailment near USA Parkway and I-80. First-arriving units conducted a thorough size-up and coordinated with rail personnel to assess the situation.

Approximately 20 to 25 box cars derailed. No hazardous spills, and no injuries reported. Expect significant delays on I-80 eastbound.

Crews remain on scene to support scene safety, monitor conditions, and assist with securing the area while railroad officials begin their investigation.
