This past Saturday was a crisp winter day with the sun shining brightly on the Comstock, and children with their families were excited for their Christmas on the Comstock experience. Jeremy Renner and the RennerVation Foundation invited Foster and at-risk children, along with their families, to a wonder-filled day in Virginia City.

Supporters from around the world joined RennerVation in its mission to create a memorable holiday experience for foster and at-risk youth in Nevada. This year, they hosted their 3rd Annual Christmas on the Comstock celebration on Dec. 13. They supported a day filled with the excitement of exploring this historic town, arts and crafts, visits with Santa, selfie opportunities with Jeremy Renner, and world-class entertainment featuring Kara Jones Performing Arts and Benedetta Caretta at Piper's Opera House. The children were included in the entertainment portion of the day, being invited on the historic stage at Piper's and encouraged to sing along with these fantastic artists.

Jeremy tried his best to visit merchants and guests throughout the day. Mr. Renner had a memorable experience with the VC Silver Circuits at the Historic Fourth Ward School, where they walked him through their program and showed him how to operate one of their robots. Jeremy successfully guided the robot through its steps and received a round of cheers.

Jeremy Renner expected to lead the parade in his RennerVation Fire Truck, which was in town and festively decorated for the evening; however, just an hour before start time, the truck wouldn't stay running. They had to find a new form of transportation, which Storey County Fire Chief Ryser provided, and the parade went on. Carson High NJROTC and Fernley High School Marching Band both joined the parade this year, adding to the excitement of the evening.

The goal was to offer a festive, friendly, and engaging day for the children and their families, full of laughter and excitement. Guests received a personalized experience, dinner, gifts, and an up-close viewing of the Parade of Lights. The RennerVation special day was completed with a magical drone show by Sky Elements.
