Swing Dance Returns to the Historic Fourth Ward School Museum

Virginia City, NV — Get ready to step back in time as Reno Swings! returns to the Historic Fourth Ward School Museum on Saturday, Sept. 26 for an evening of swing dancing, vintage music, and old-fashioned fun on the school's beautiful 1870s-era wooden dance floor. 

The event will begin with a beginner-friendly swing dance lesson from instructors Clay and Cullen Mitchell from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., giving newcomers an opportunity to learn some basic steps before the dance floor opens for an evening of social swing dancing. No previous dance experience or dance partner is required. Everyone is welcome to join in! 

Following the lesson, guests can dance the night away from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. with live vintage music from the Carson Street Ragtime Band. A no-host bar will also be available throughout the The Historic Fourth Ward School provides a uniquely historic setting for the event. Built during the height of Virginia City's Comstock mining boom, the 1870s landmark offers guests the chance to experience swing dancing inside one of Nevada's most remarkable historic buildings. 

Tickets are $15 General Admission and $10 for Fourth Ward School Museum members, and are available via Eventbrite or on our website!

Whether you're an experienced swing dancer or have never set foot on a dance floor before, Reno Swings! invites you to grab a partner or come solo and enjoy an unforgettable night of music and dancing in one of Virginia City's most historic spaces. 

The Fourth Ward School Museum is located at 537 C St., Virginia City, Nevada. Admission to the museum is $9 general admission, open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
