Storey County Wins Award
Fiber Distribution Project - Storey County

Storey County has shared they just won a 2025 National Association of Counties (NACo) Achievement Award for their Fiber Distribution Project! With support from CC Communications and Google, they are expanding high-speed internet access across the county—starting in Virginia City and soon reaching Gold Hill, the Highlands, Mark Twain, and Lockwood. Thanks to County funding, every home and business in the project area is eligible for free fiber installation. Even if you’re not ready to sign up for service, it’s a good idea to let CC Communications run the fiber to your property while crews are in your neighborhood. If the connection is declined now, installing it later may come at a cost. CC Communications may need brief access to your yard or exterior wall—just like any other utility. They are excited to bring long-term, high-speed connectivity to our community! For more information, visit this page on our site: https://www.storeycounty.org/.../Storey-County-Fiber...
