Storey County Provides Guidance on 2026 Election Sign Placement
As candidate filing for the 2026 election year opened on March 2, 2026, the Storey County Clerk’s Office is providing guidance to candidates and residents regarding campaign sign placement.
Candidates may post campaign signs in designated areas of County public property in accordance with Storey County Ordinance Chapter 17.84, Appendix A.
State law (NRS 400.410) prohibits placing campaign signs within 660 feet of an interstate freeway or state route until April 10, 2026. Signs may be placed on private property at any time with the property owner’s permission.
These guidelines are intended to ensure public safety, compliance with state and local laws, and a fair election process.
