Storey County Lifts Evacuation Warning for Gold Hill and Southern Virginia City Due to Fire

3:18 PM Update 

STOREY COUNTY, Nev. — The Storey County Fire District has lifted the evacuation warning for Gold Hill and Virginia City south of the State Route 341/342 intersection.

According to the Fire District's Incident Commander, forward progress of the fire has been stopped, allowing emergency officials to lift the warning.

Storey County thanks residents for their cooperation during the evacuation warning. Officials also thank the first responders and partner agencies working to contain the fire and protect the community.Storey County will continue to provide updates on official social media channels if conditions change.

SCSO and the fire department are on scene of a wildland fire in Gold Hill, NV watch for emergency crews and avoid the area. No structures threatened at this time.
