Storey County is accepting applications for the FY26-27 Community Project Grant Program, offering up to $20,000 in funding for projects that improve local communities.

The program, which doubled its maximum award from previous years, provides funding for community-led projects that benefit residents in one of the county's four designated areas.

Applications must be submitted by teams of at least three Storey County residents.

The county is accepting one application for each of the following grant areas:

  • Area 1: Lockwood, Mustang, Painted Rock and Northeast
  • Area 2: Virginia City Highlands and Lagomarsino
  • Area 3: Virginia City and Gold Hill
  • Area 4: Mark Twain

Applications for the FY26-27 Community Project Grant Program are due by Aug. 31, 2026.
