Storey County Invites Community Input on Local Parks at Upcoming Town Halls
Storey County is hosting three town halls this April to engage residents in planning improvements to existing parks and providing input on the county’s newest park in Gold Hill.
Residents will have the opportunity to share their perspectives on Mark Twain Park, Miners Park, Virginia City Highlands Park, and Louise Peri Park. Discussions will focus on current park conditions, desired amenities, accessibility improvements, and future programming for a park in Gold Hill.
Town Hall Schedule:
- Wednesday, April 15 | 6–8 PM – Lockwood Senior Community Center, 800 Peri Ranch Rd #103, Lockwood
- Thursday, April 16 | 6–8 PM – Virginia City Piper’s Opera House, 12 B St, Virginia City
- Wednesday, April 22 | 6-8 PM – Virginia City Highlands Community Center, 2998 Cartwright Road, Reno, NV, 89521
- Thursday, April 23 | 6–8 PM – Mark Twain Community Center, 500 Sam Clemens Rd, Mark Twain (This Town Hall will also feature information from our Emergency Management team about the recent Fire Evacuation Drill)
“Community input is critical as we plan enhancements to our parks,” said Austin Osborne, Storey County Manager. “These meetings provide an opportunity for residents to help shape the parks that bring our community together.”
