Storey County Firearms Arrest

Storey County, NV - On June 15, 2025, at approximately 1:41pm, Storey County Sheriff's Office deputies made contact with a male subject who had an extraditable warrant out of New River Township for battery with a $1,000 bail. Upon contact, deputies advised the subject he had a warrant. Deputies asked the subject if he had weapons on his person. The subject, later identified as Charles Wills (recently moved to Nevada from Oregon), stated yes and he would use it if deputies attempted to arrest him.
Upon taking Wills into custody, after a short altercation with deputies, he was found to have a concealed firearm. Upon further investigation, Wills was found to be in possession of two more firearms and live ammunition.
Wills was booked into the Storey County Detention Facility on charges of prohibited person in possession of a firearm (3 felony counts), conceal carrying without a permit (1 felony count), resisting public officer, with use of firearm -weapons violation (1 felony count), and arrest on other agency warrant (misdemeanor).
