Storey County Announces Public Observation Opportunities Ahead of June 9 Primary Election
The Storey County Clerk’s Office is inviting members of the public to observe several steps in the election process leading up to and following the June 9, 2026 Primary Election.
These observation opportunities are part of the County’s commitment to transparency and allow residents to see how election equipment and ballots are handled during key stages of the process.
Pre-Election Logic and Accuracy Testing
Prior to the election, the Clerk’s Office conducts a Logic and Accuracy Test (LAT) on all voting equipment. This test verifies that voting machines will correctly record and tabulate ballots.

Time: 9 AM to 4 PM
Post-Election Logic and Accuracy Testing
Following the election, a second post-election Logic and Accuracy test is conducted to confirm that voting equipment continues to tabulate ballots correctly after the election has concluded.

Date: June 17, 2026
Time: 9 AM to noon
Mail Ballot Processing
The Clerk’s Office will also process and tabulate mail ballots following Election Day.
Mail ballot processing will take place:
June 9, 2026 from noon to 8 PM

Final Ballot Processing Prior to Canvass
The final ballot processing will take place the evening before the official canvass of election results.

June 15, 2026 at 5 PM

The canvass is the official certification process in which election results are finalized and approved.

Residents are also reminded that early voting for the Primary Election begins May 23, with Election Day scheduled for June 9, 2026.
