Spirits Made Me Do It Saloon Crawl returns to Virginia City this Hauntober™
Event features specialty cocktails, sweet pairings and scavenger hunt through historic saloons
Virginia City, Nev. – Virginia City hosts the Spirits Made Me Do It Saloon Crawl on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 1-5 p.m., offering 21 or older participants a tasting tour through the town’s historic saloons and merchants. The event is part of Hauntober™, Virginia City’s monthlong celebration of its historic and cultural ties to the supernatural. During the crawl, attendees can sample specialty cocktails and sweet treats while visiting multiple participating locations throughout town. Select stops will include interactive elements where participants taste different spirits and solve a scavenger hunt for a chance to win event prizes. Crawl locations and merchants will also compete for attendee votes in several categories, including Best Cocktail, Best Crawl Stop and Best Sweet Treat. It’s a great opportunity to support local businesses, engage with the community and enjoy a lively, self-guided tour that appeals to both first-time guests and longtime fans of Virginia City.”
Throughout the day, attendees can visit saloons and merchants at their own pace to sample specialty cocktails, sweet treats and light bites offered at each location. Many locations also feature live music, themed décor or hosted activities to enhance the experience. Costumes are welcome but not required and guests are encouraged to plan ahead to make the most of the self-guided crawl. Designated drivers are invited to take part as “Caspers,” receiving a special cup, giveaways and eligibility for prizes in recognition of supporting a safe and enjoyable event for all participants. Crawl cups and tickets, which include access to all participating locations, tasting samples and an event map, can be purchased online.
The saloon crawl is one of several events taking place during Hauntober™, Virginia City’s annual October celebration. Additional activities include guided ghost tours, Halloween-themed train rides, a Haunted Hayride, family-friendly events and overnight stays at historic properties.
