Silver City Preservation Society to Hold Winter Dance Featuring Margret’s Funk Band
The Silver City Preservation Society (SCPS) invites everyone to the historic Silver City Schoolhouse for a Winter Dance on Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. Tasked in part with producing and presenting arts and culture activities and events for Silver City and surrounding communities, SCPS is delighted to offer an event to help folks shake off the winter blues, listen to live music, dance and enjoy some old fashioned in-person socializing!
From Reno, Nevada, Margret’s funk band is a Seven Member old school funk band that plays timeless classics from the '70s to current fan favorites such as Bruno Mars. They perform shows that engage the audience with infectious beats, vivacious energy and stellar vocals that get people singing and dancing and smiling!
What to expect: The Silver City Schoolhouse is a wonderful place to see a show! It’s a wonderful space with a big open wooden floor – great for dancing! There will be seating around the edges of the dance floor. There will be a bar with beer, wine and sodas. We’ll have a treat table where folks can drop a donation and pick up yummy home-made sweets and treats. The event will go till about 9:30 p.m. or so. There is plenty of parking at the back (south side) of the Schoolhouse.
