SCSO: Witnesses Requested

STOREY COUNTY, NV - On June 10, 2026, at approximately 1132 hours, a Storey County Sheriff's Office deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a suspected DUI driver on USA Parkway in the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center.

The driver failed to yield to emergency lights and sirens and fled at a high rate of speed, driving erratically and posing an extreme public safety risk. Deputies eventually stopped the vehicle on Britain Drive in a parking lot of a business. The driver was removed from the vehicle, where he advised deputies he had swallowed approximately 6 to 8 grams of Fentanyl after being stopped.

Deputies immediately requested emergency medical services. The driver, Blaze Thomas (age 28 of Carson City, NV), was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Blaze remains in the custody of the Storey County Sheriff's Office and will be booked into the Storey County Detention Facility on multiple charges once he is medically cleared.

The linked video shows a small portion of the incident from the view of one of the responding deputies. No deputies were injured in the incident.
