STOREY COUNTY, NV - On April 29, 2026 Storey County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a location in the Virginia City Highlands for a report of a violation of a temporary protection order for domestic violence.
Communication was established with the suspect, who refused to vacate the residence and threatened violence against law enforcement multiple times. It was known to deputies this subject was armed due to surveillance conducted during the incident.
Due to the suspect being armed and barricaded in the residence, assistance from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office negotiation team and SWAT were requested. The negotiation team was able to make contact with the suspect via phone. After several hours of speaking with the suspect, he exited the residence and was taken into custody for the violation of the protection order, as well as, assault with a deadly weapon. He was booked into the Storey County Detention Facility.
