Intoxicated Dayton man arrested after attacking roommate and firing AR-15 in neighborhoodOn June 26, 2025.
On June 26, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., deputies with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence in the Dayton Valley Road area for a report of two roommates engaged in an altercation that had turned physical. Upon arrival, deputies met with a victim who had been strangled and had visible injuries. Deputies learned that the male suspect, later identified as Michael Parker, had left the area on foot and was armed with an AR-15 rifle. As deputies were tending to the victim, gunfire from a high-powered rifle erupted in the immediate area. Minutes later, Parker emerged from the darkness, armed with the rifle. Deputies ordered Parker at gunpoint to drop the weapon, and he complied. Parker was arrested without incident.
Parker was arrested for the following charges: Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Battery (x2), Breach of Peace, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm without Serial Number, Intoxicated and in Possession of a Firearm, Intoxicated Pedestrian in Roadway, Discharging Firearm in Congested Area, Discharging Weapon Where Persons Might Be Endangered, and Discharging Firearm Upon Public Street. Total bail was set at $33,650.00.
The victim was transported to Carson-Tahoe Hospital. The neighborhood was subsequently canvassed to ensure there were no injuries to citizens or damages to property.
