Notes from the Cabin in the Sky, 8-22-2025

I sometimes lovingly refer to Jim Clark as "The Most Interesting Man on the Comstock." It almost goes without saying that the Comstock is the most interesting place in the world, so the reader can draw their own conclusions about Jim's global status. In a word, legendary.
A day in his life might include taking one of his race cars to the track with his family (who share his passion for things that go fast), spending time with Dale building and tuning the next vehicle, traveling across the country with his lovely Georgette, sharing memories of his movie career with a rapt audience at the Nashville Social Club, instructing younger Masons on the Craft, attending a train event, visiting his countless friends around the country and world, or at his usual seat in church on Sunday morning.
Jim has an infectious enthusiasm for life and a warm kindness to those around him. He is more energetic than many young men I know, and his keen wit and humor belie his years. I have frequently told people that I want to be like Jim Clark when I grow up, and I mean it. He is a treasure. Join me in wishing him a happy birthday on the 26th of this month.
In newspaper-related news, we have more news than will fit in our pages, and I encourage our readership to visit our website for even more articles and content this week.
As Jim might say, "I don't always read a newspaper, but when I do, it's the Comstock Chronicle." Stay thirsty for life, my friends.
