Non-Compliant Tier III Sex Offender Arrested in Dayton

Dayton, Nev. – At approximately 10:40 a.m. on Sept. 16, 2026, deputies assigned to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Western Command Patrol Area contacted 43-year-old Dayton resident Christopher Hartle, a Tier III registered sex offender, at the Dayton Substation.

During the contact, deputies determined Hartle had failed to complete his required sex offender verification within the required timeframe, a felony violation of NRS 179D.550. Hartle was subsequently arrested and transported to the Lyon County Jail without incident.

Hartle was booked on one felony count of violating his sex offender registration requirements, with bail set at $5,000.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office maintains zero tolerance for registered sex offenders who fail to comply with their statutory registration requirements and will continue to take enforcement action when violations are identified.
