A new permanent traffic signal at the intersection of Electric Avenue and Milan Drive in the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center (TRI-Center) is expected to become operational in the coming days as crews complete final testing and signal activation work.

The signal is part of ongoing efforts to improve traffic flow and safety within the TRI-Center. These improvements are designed to help reduce congestion, improve turns throughout the intersection, and enhance safety for drivers traveling throughout the industrial center and to and from Interstate 80.

The project was funded through a partnership between Storey County and Tesla, with Tesla contributing 85 percent of the signal's construction costs under an agreement with the County.

"Storey County continues to work with our partners to address transportation needs as the TRI-Center grows," said County Manager Austin Osborne. "This traffic signal is one of many improvements aimed at supporting safer and more efficient travel throughout the industrial center."

Motorists are encouraged to remain alert as crews complete the final stages of the project and the signal is placed into operation. Storey County appreciates the cooperation and patience of TRI-Center businesses, employees, and drivers throughout construction.
