New Misfits Performance This May

Guest Contributor: Misfits President Lisa Paul

The Misfits Theater Group is bringing laughter, mystery, and plenty of puns to the stage with its upcoming melodrama, The Pony Expresso, or The Villain Came to a Grinding Halt.

Set in a struggling coffee shop, the story follows Star Bright and her Aunt Dee Caff as they try to keep their beloved Pony Expresso afloat. Business has been slow, thanks to rival café owners Mo Cabana and Fifi Latte, who lure customers away with cheaper coffee. But something more troubling is brewing in town—customers are falling ill with a strange fainting condition that strikes "'til the last drop". Enter Buck Brawn, the dashing hero determined to uncover the truth. As secrets spill and tensions rise, the plot thickens when news breaks that the railroad plans to turn the Pony Expresso into a train station, promising unexpected fortune for its owners. In true melodramatic fashion, justice—and love—ultimately prevail.

Performances will take place at the Odeon on May 1 and 2 at 7 p.m., with matinees on May 3 and 10 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, while children five and under attend free. Reservations can be made by emailing daytonmisfits@gmail.com or by texting 775-315-1085.

Proceeds from the Friday night performance will benefit the National Pony Express Association—Nevada Division, making this entertaining production an opportunity to support a meaningful cause.
