March Tours Highlight Silver City's Historic Landmarks
Update via Comstock Foundation for History and Culture
On March 11, the Abandoned Mine Lands (AML) section of the Nevada Division of Minerals (NDOM) toured the historic Donovan Mill in Silver City, NV as part of a NDOM training event.
Approximately 40 participants from across the United States attended the training tour. In addition to the Donovan Mill, the group also toured the Dayton Consolidated site and took part in hands-on field training focused on hazard logging—an essential component of preserving and safely managing historic mining sites.
On March 31, Donovan Mill volunteers had the opportunity to visit the historic New York Headframe in Silver City with Jay Reed and Wyatt Cowan of Comstock Inc., along with Larry Radford. Jay, Wyatt, and Larry generously shared their knowledge, answering questions and offering insight into the history and unique details of this important Comstock site.
