Lyon County Sheriff's Office Sex Offender Task Force Arrests Two Registered Sex Offenders for Registration Violations

Fernley, NV – The Lyon County Sheriff's Office Sex Offender Task Force recently arrested two registered sex offenders for violating Nevada's sex offender registration requirements during separate investigations in Fernley.

On July 28, 2026, members of the Sex Offender Task Force arrested 22-year-old Fernley resident Verdon Ahmad Davis-Deloney, A Tier III registered Sex Offender, following an investigation that determined he had failed to complete his required annual sex offender registration by his required registration date. Davis-Deloney was booked into the Lyon County Jail on one count of Prohibited Act by a Sex Offender – First Offense.

On July 29, 2026, members of the Sex Offender Task Force arrested 71-year-old Fernley resident Johnny Lee Lawson, a Teir III registered Sex Offender, following an investigation that determined he had failed to complete his required annual sex offender registration by his required registration date. Lawson was booked into the Lyon County Jail on one count of Prohibited Act by a Sex Offender – First Offense.

The Lyon County Sheriff's Office Sex Offender Task Force is committed to ensuring that all registered sex offenders in Lyon County comply with their legal obligations. The Task Force conducts routine compliance checks, investigates suspected violations, and proactively enforces Nevada's sex offender registration laws to reinforce public safety throughout the community.

The mission of the Task Force is to achieve 100% compliance among registered sex offenders residing, working, or attending school in Lyon County. Those who choose not to comply with their legal obligations should expect swift enforcement action and criminal prosecution when appropriate.
