Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Non-Compliant Sex Offender in Fernley

Fernley, NV – On June 7, 2026, at approximately 7:45 a.m., members of the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office  (LCSO) Sex Offender Task Force conducted a compliance investigation at a residence in the 3400 block of  Drayer Lane in Fernley, Nevada. 

The investigation was initiated after the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Task Force received  information indicating that Kyle Marcelino Landa, 41, was residing at an address different from the one listed  in his registration records. Deputies subsequently contacted Landa, a registered sexual offender, and  determined he was out of compliance with Nevada’s sex offender registration requirements. 

Further investigation revealed that Landa had moved from his registered address and had failed to update his  sex offender registration within the time required by Nevada law. Deputies determined Landa had been  residing at the Drayer Lane residence for approximately two weeks without properly updating his registration  information. 

Landa was taken into custody and booked into the Lyon County Jail on one felony count of Prohibited Acts – Violation of Sex Offender Registration (NRS 179D.550.1). 

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Task Force remains committed to ensuring all registered  sexual offenders residing in or visiting Lyon County comply with Nevada’s registration requirements.  Deputies proactively investigate reports of non-compliance and take appropriate enforcement action to protect  the community. 

The mission of the Task Force is to ensure full compliance among registered sexual offenders within Lyon  County. Individuals who fail to meet their legal obligations will be held accountable.
