Lyon County Invites the Community to Participate in Flood Preparedness Workshop

Dayton, Nevada – Lyon County is inviting residents to attend a Flood Preparedness Workshop on Thursday, Nov. 13, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Dayton Community Center.

As part of Nevada Flood Awareness Week, Lyon County Emergency Management and Community Development Departments are hosting a flood preparedness workshop in Dayton.

Members of the community will have an opportunity to meet with local emergency managers, floodplain managers and community partners — including NV Energy, the National Weather Service, Carson Water Subconservancy District, and representatives from Storey County.

The workshop will provide valuable information on personal preparedness, local flood risk and inundation areas, and flood modeling in Lyon County. Public input is an important part of planning for a safer, more resilient Lyon County.
