K9 Hera Drug Bust in VC
STOREY COUNTY, NV - On April 23, 2026, at approximately 4:59 p.m., Storey County Sheriff's Office detectives conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on D Street in Virginia City. The occupants were identified as Christa Dyer (age 46 of Virginia City, NV) and Hubert Dyer (age 45 of Virginia City, NV). Reasonable suspicion during the interaction led to K9 Hera being deployed to conduct a free air sniff of the vehicle.
K9 Hera gave a positive alert which, in turn, became a probable cause search of the vehicle, during which suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl, and heroin were discovered. Both of the Dyers were taken into custody. This discovery led to a request for a search warrant of their apartment which was granted and just happened to be near the traffic stop.
While approaching the apartment, a male subject exited, identified as Sergio Molina (age 67 of Virginia City, NV). Molina, who was on court ordered conditions, for a prior drug arrest, was detained and arrested for failure to comply with those conditions.
A search of the apartment was conducted pursuant to the warrant. During the search, additional narcotics, items for narcotics sales, drug paraphernalia, and a shotgun with ammunition were located. In addition, narcotics and items for narcotics sales were located in a bag Molina was carrying.
All three subjects were arrested and transported to the Storey County Detention Facility on the following charges:
