Juvenile Arrested After Threat at Silver Stage Middle School

Silver Springs, NV – On October 16, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a report involving a student who allegedly made a threat to bring a firearm to Silver Stage Middle School.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer assigned to the Silver Springs area schools promptly responded to the school and initiated an investigation. Following a thorough investigation, the juvenile was taken into custody without incident and later turned over to the custody of Lyon County Juvenile Probation.
At this time, there is no ongoing threat to students, staff, or the community. The Sheriff’s Office commends the swift actions of the School Resource Officers and the cooperation of Silver Stage Middle School administration and the Lyon County School District in ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office continues to work closely with the Lyon County School District in enforcing its zero-tolerance policy for school violence and threats. In accordance with this joint initiative, LCSO will investigate and submit for prosecution any and all crimes occurring on school campuses—whether
threats, acts of violence, or possession of weapons—to the fullest extent of the law.
The Sheriff’s Office remains steadfast in its commitment to an aggressive but fair approach to maintaining safety within Lyon County schools through enforcement, education, and proactive engagement.
