Hot August Nights Returns to Virginia City July 31-Aug. 1, 2026
Reno, NV – Mark your calendar now as America’s love affair with classic cars, rock and roll and nights filled with nostalgia returns in 2026 to historic Virginia City, Nevada as the official kick off for the 40th Anniversary for Hot August Nights.
Step back in time and fire up your engines as Hot August Nights kicks off in Virginia City, the legendary Comstock mining town where history meets horsepower. For two unforgettable days, C Street transforms into a showcase of chrome, classics, and cruising with a backdrop like no other. Taking place Friday, July 31 and Saturday, Aug. 1, the town transforms into a show-n-shine with 400 registered cars lining the main street followed by a late afternoon cruise and celebrity awards.
“We’re thrilled to bring Hot August Nights back to Virginia City,” said Tim Holland, Hot August Nights Board President. “We have heard from many of our participants and attendees that wanted us to return to Virginia City as part of our 40th Anniversary. This event has always been about more than cars—it’s about community, nostalgia, and celebrating together. Everyone is welcome, and we’re excited to move forward with the same passion that has made Hot August Nights a tradition for nearly four decades.”
Registration is open now at HotAugustNights.net. Car registration is $60 for the event and remains open until the limit is reached.
Hot August Nights, a nonprofit organization, began as a way to drive tourism to the area during August. Now, it’s considered an iconic special event for attendees and participants to relive and celebrate the nostalgic times of the '50s, '60s and '70s.
