The Comstock Foundation for History & Culture is excited to announce the recent acquisition of two 1929 Ford Model AA trucks from the Pierce Powell Estate. Based on their serial numbers, both trucks date back to 1929 and represent another important piece of our area's industrial and mining history.

These remarkable trucks have stories to tell. One of the Donovan Mill's longtime neighbors, who knew Pierce personally and is familiar with the trucks' history, has graciously agreed to write a story about Pierce Powell, his family, and these incredible vehicles. We can't wait to share it with you!

As if that wasn't enough, Pierce's brother, Frank Powell, also made a lasting contribution to the Foundation by donating a Gordon Smith & Co. air compressor, another significant artifact that helps preserve the legacy of the Donovan Mill and the Comstock.

These additions are more than just historic equipment—they're pieces of the people, families, and industries that shaped our community.

Stay tuned... there's much more to come as we uncover and share the history behind these amazing trucks and the Powell family.
