Highlands Fraud Case Update
STOREY COUNTY, NV - In May 2025, elderly residents of the Virginia City Highlands were contacted by fraud suspects pretending to be federal agents and bank fraud investigators. They were able to defraud the victims of a substantially large amount of cash.
Suspects came from Broward County, Florida to the victim's address where they obtained cash and other valuable items from the victims.
After an extensive investigation, Storey County Sheriff’s Office Detectives identified the suspects and obtained arrest warrants and worked with Broward County Sheriff's Office in Florida to locate the suspects: Haydn Thelusma, Jeoffrey White, Inari Nelson, and Armani Anderson.
Jeoffrey White (26) of Coconut Creek, Broward County, Florida was arrested and extradited to Storey County on 10/16/2025.
Haydn Thelusma (24) of Sunrise, Broward County, Florida was arrested and extradited to Storey County on 11/21/2025.
Inari Nelson (23) of Sunrise, Broward County, Florida was arrested and extradited to Storey County on 03/18/2026.
Armani Anderson (27) of North Lauderdale, Broward County, Florida was arrested and extradited to Storey County on 07/02/2026.
The fraud investigation remains ongoing, and Storey County Sheriff's Office Detectives are working closely with Broward County Sheriff's Office Gang Task Force Detectives as this investigation has continued to grow after identifying numerous other victims in Nevada and around the country. Haydn Thelusma is set to be sentenced for his portion of the criminal activity next month in Storey County District Court.
