Experience the 11th Annual Holiday Faire at St. Mary’s Art Center
Virginia City, Nev. — St. Mary’s Art Center invites the community to its 11th annual Holiday Faire, a two-day holiday marketplace featuring fine art, crafts and handmade goods from regional artists. The event takes place Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 55 North R St. in Virginia City. Guests can enjoy holiday music, snacks and a hot chocolate bar while browsing through each floor of the art center. Admission is free. “Our Holiday Faire is one of those special events that truly kicks off the holiday season,” said A. Perry, executive director of St. Mary’s Art Center. “It’s a chance for everyone to get a head start on holiday shopping, support local artists and enjoy delicious treats along the way. Each year, this curated event continues to grow and we’re thrilled to welcome new and returning talented artists who create the perfect gifts for anyone looking for unique treasures. We’ll also host a silent auction featuring original art and eclectic items, with proceeds supporting the art center’s programs.”
The Holiday Faire transforms the historic four-story landmark into a festive marketplace brimming with creativity and community spirit. Guests can shop from more than 30 artists, writers and makers showcasing unique pieces including photography, jewelry, pottery, textiles and home décor. In addition to shopping, guests can bid in a silent auction filled with original artwork and handmade creations donated by local artists and supporters. Funds raised help sustain St. Mary’s Art Center’s exhibitions and community art programs.
A free shuttle, provided by the Virginia City Tourism Commission, will also operate between St. Mary’s Art Center, the Virginia City Senior Center and C Street throughout the weekend. Additional free holiday shopping events will also take place nearby at the Virginia City Senior Center Craft Fair and the Silver City Holiday Artisans Faire for a full day of shopping on the Comstock.
