Early Morning Fire in Dayton
A residential house fire occurred at the intersection of Flowery and Grosh in Dayton, Nevada.
Update: Aug 22, 2025 - This morning, Lyon County Sheriff’s Deputies reported seeing smoke coming from the corner of Grosh Avenue and Flowery Avenue in Dayton. Upon arriving at the location, Lyon County Deputies rescued a man lying inside of a fully involved residential fire. Lyon County Deputies had originally observed smoke in the area of the corner of Grosh Avenue and Flowery Avenue.
Dispatch began receiving multiple calls of a structure fire at that location. Deputies immediately responded and were advised a male subject, later identified as Jack Randell, was inside the residence. Reports were that Randell had caused the fire due to an ongoing dispute with his spouse. Deputies immediately entered the residence and were confronted by large amounts of smoke and fire. One of the deputies and a civilian, on scene, helped to drag Randell from the residence to safety. Randell had sustained moderate to severe burns and was flown to UC Davis. The deputy and citizens on scene sustained very minor injuries and were treated on scene.

An early morning fire has taken the home of an elderly man in Dayton NV near Grosh and Flowery, per the following information from Lyon County Dispatch. It was reported that care flight was requested and has landed.
