Early Voting Begins in Storey County on May 23, 2026
Early Voting for Storey County begins on May 23, 2026, and will end on June 5, 2026.
Voter registration allows residents to participate in the upcoming primary election, which will determine which candidates advance to the General Election later this year.
Residents are encouraged to verify their voter registration status, party affiliation, and contact information before early voting or the primary election on June 9. Voters may contact the Clerk’s Office at 775-847-0969 or email elections@storeycounty.org for assistance.

Same Day Voter Registration
Nevada also offers same-day voter registration at polling locations during early voting and on Election Day. Voters may also update their voter registration online during early voting and on Election Day through https://www.nvsos.gov/elections/election-information/same-day-registration.
Early Voting
Voters who prefer to cast their ballot in person before Election Day may participate in early voting.
Early voting will take place at:

· Storey County Slammer Museum:
o May 23 (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM)
o May 26 – 29 (8:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
o May 30 (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM)
o June 1 – 5 (8:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
*Note: There will be no early voting on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day

Election Day is Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

Polls will be open from 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM.
How Mail Ballots Work
Voters may complete their ballot at home and return it in one of three ways:
• Mail it using the provided postage-paid envelope
• Drop it off at the Clerk & Treasurer’s Office:
26 S. B Street (2nd Floor, Drawer D), Virginia City, NV 89440
• Drop it off at any polling location during voting hours
Mail ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day, June 9, to be counted.
Poll Observers
During early voting and on Election Day, a person can observe the conduct of voting at a polling place. If you are interested in being a poll observer, please contact our Clerk’s office at 775-847-0969 or elections@storeycounty.org
Campaigning Rules Reminder
During early voting and on Election Day, voters and the public are reminded that political campaigning is prohibited within 100 feet of polling locations. This includes wearing clothing, buttons, hats, or other merchandise supporting a candidate, political party, or ballot measure.
These rules are designed to ensure that all voters can cast their ballot free from influence or pressure while inside and near polling places.
