An Unlucky Traffic Stop
STOREY COUNTY, NV – On March 16, 2026, at approximately 6:35 p.m., a Storey County Sheriff’s Office Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no license plates on State Route 341. Unfortunately (for him) the driver, identified as Ryan Rogers (age 39 of Reno, NV), had no valid driver’s license, no vehicle registration, and no proof of insurance (oops).
While the Deputy was completing a citation and requesting a tow truck, a furry leprechaun by the name of K9 Deputy Chino arrived on scene with his handler. Chino was deployed on the vehicle and provided a positive alert to the odor of narcotics (Rogers luck is about to run out…).
Upon a search of the vehicle, approximately 15.6 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located (well…Chino located something at the end of the rainbow…).
Rogers was issued a citation for the traffic violations. He was taken into custody and booked into the Storey County Detention Facility on the following charges:
-NRS 453.336.2C Possess schedule I or II controlled substance, more than 14g but less than 28g
-NRS 453.566 Posses or use drug paraphernalia
K9 Chino is our "pinch" charming!
