About Us
The Comstock Chronicle is a for-profit newspaper owned by the Comstock Foundation for History and Culture, an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, protecting, and sharing the history and cultural assets of the Comstock region.
The Chronicle is operated by The Dayton Valley Dispatch, DBA The Comstock Chronicle, and functions as a community newspaper with a dual purpose:
- To provide accurate, neutral, and relevant local news, and
- To generate revenue that directly supports the Foundation’s historic preservation work.
Although the newspaper is a for-profit enterprise, it is stewarded by the Foundation to ensure its mission remains centered on community education, heritage awareness, and responsible journalism.
